Road Traffic accidents
In the case of road traffic accidents, we will meet with the client at the location and take a statement from them as to what happened. We take measurements of the scene as well as photographing the area so we can prepare a map for use in court.
We then meet the solicitor and go through the statement. This allows us to compare the original statement given to the solicitor with the one given to us at the location of the accident.
Our report will cover liabilities and probabilities i.e. it may not be 100% one-way, there could be contributory negligence so we need to assess the percentage contributory negligence involved.
Workplace accidents and Personal Injury
We follow a similar procedure with personal injury and workplace accidents. This will include an analysis of the health and safety regulations in that workplace or adherence to construction regulations if on a building site. We then pick out the (alleged) breaches of the regulations so the barrister can construct a claim.
